I’m Kate – an award-winning producer, founder of Softcut, and a believer in the power of story to shift culture.

I lead with heart as much as with vision, and after more than a decade working as an executive producer in commercial and branded content, I launched Softcut to help change the faces behind the camera. We’re a nonfiction film collective bringing more equity, empathy, and representation into the production process. Our work centers social impact, prioritizes collaboration, and blends brand storytelling with documentary-style filmmaking that actually moves people.

I’ve always been drawn to big, messy human stories – I co-produced Maddman (Netflix), about Steve Madden’s rise, fall, and comeback, and worked on Sweet Micky for President (Showtime), which followed a pop star’s wild run for Haiti’s highest office.

Before founding Softcut, I led creative and production teams at Onslot Films, where I oversaw everything from vision to delivery. I’m originally from Liverpool, where I got my start in the UK electronic music scene.

Today, I call Brooklyn home – where I live with my wife, Lauren, and our two daughters, and continue telling stories that reflect the world we want to live in.
